Bar Exam Pass Rate with Exam Takers and Passers

In almost all states and territories, the bar exam is one of several requirements for admission to the bar. Earning a law school degree is a requirement for taking the bar exam and most law school graduate takes the bar. In 2022, over the all ABA accredited law schools,

A total of 94,800 took the bar exam in first time out of 101,683 law school graduates. The number includes 469 early exam takers and 9,614 graduates from prior year.
16,725 graduates did not take the bar examination including 2,265 graduates whose information is not available.
74,965 bar exam takers passed the exam.
The average bar exam pass rate is 77.11%.
